Keep text box values as it is after get error message

I'm developing web application using php and mysql. User registration page , if user enter invalida data, when he click "ok" button it display pop up error message. And data on the text boxes are dissapper. But I want to keep the data as it is. Could somebody help me?

comment the line in javascript.

its like :
document.formName.textboxName.value = "";
or
document.getElementById('textboxName').value = "";

I put it this way. But didn't work.

Always display the variable in the value attribute of the text box.

On initial visit, it will be empty because the variable, initialized, is empty.

On submit, you grab the POST and assign it to the variable. It should then "save" your text for you.
