internal server error

Hey All,

Yesterday I had this error pop up on my production server. Strangely, I haven't made any changes to the server.

The error is

Warning: file(filename)[function.file]:failed to open stream:HTTP request failed! HTTP1.1 500 Internal Server error in url
 

I found this page

and looked at my directory, and sure enough, I don't have a /chroot/ folder

Does anybody know if this error is really caused by not having a /chroot/etc/php.ini file?

Anything else I should try first?
Most searches for that error have come up fruitless.

My guess is that the system administrators made some upgrades. I would try and create the chroot dir and drop the php.ini file in there, restart apache and see if that clears things up for you.

You could always ask the admins if they did any upgrades to the system.

I am the admin ;) and the developer, so clearly that isn't it.

not sure what the issue was, but i recoded a bit of the page and the error went away.
Oh well. will remain a mystery it seems
