Hello all

Is there a way of way to write php scrip for joomla and insert it directly into the page as a content. Using html editor that comes with joomla does not allow me to write any php into it.

I am not familiar with the product your are asking about.

I suggest that you ask it's developers. Perhaps they have a support forum or some sort of documentation that could help.

I have to use it and so its not about likes or dislikes. But this is good place as any to ask what everyone thinks of joomla. I think all sites made in joomla look similar. It is powerful CMS and I think its growing in popularity. Reason for its growth I see in "no need to know code" to actually do some pretty amazing stuff and if one wants to learn how to program its modules and other components it becomes very powerful tool indeed, but as I said at the beginning, its easy to tell when sites are done using joomla, they all look similar. I would love to hear what everyone thinks about this as am not sure what to think about it my self.

I'm not a fan of CMSs - I have downloaded pretty much every CMS you can find, and the only one I kept was WordPress. That's because it's simple, easy to customise and has a large developer following. The thing with big CMSs like Joomla, while they're great for experienced Joomlas' (my name given to Joomla users), it's very large and takes a long time to get used to. Plus, I found it pretty hard to customise, myself.

And why would you want a website that looks like another website?!

There is another problem I find with joomla. All changes have to be made on server (unless I'm missing something) so testing your scripts can be very messy job indeed.

I understand that Joomla is a development of an earlier version of Mambo .... there are a number of 'modules' that can be used to insert php code - mosphp and mosmodule (http://mambo-code.org/gf/project/coaddons/frs/) come to mind .... they may still be compatible, or at least fairly simply amendable.
