Rik,

Well, 40 years of programming experience allows me to make a rough guess
pretty quickly. A real estimate takes a lot longer, of course.

But there's a lot to phpdug. And a lot to code.

Well, my main astonishment was caused by possibly semenatics: "*did* you
imagine" , to which the answer was "yes". Not *can* you imagine or *do you
imagine now, when I ask*, but in the past. Thinking roughly about scope &
depth on a elaborate site on happens to visit, OK, but imaging lines.... I
haven't got a single clue how many lines my own projects span, let alone
any theoretical ones. Well, if I was a Perl junkie, every site above 100
was obviously not efficient enough...

Yea, well I'm familiar with digg.com and at one time had a customer who
wanted to implement something similar. I quickly talked him out of it -
he had no idea what he was getting into.
