i am using mandriva linux. i ahve installed manually apache,mysql, php
installed by following RPM package.

i am calling the "http://localhost/first.php"

i am getting the exact coding whatever i have typed in the first.php
file... i am not getting the first.php coding result...........

Best thing to do would be to check your Apache config file. I don't
know where this is on Redhat, but make sure you have CGI enabled for
PHP scripts.

No, rather PHP should be run as a module unless you have a good reason
otherwise. It's faster and better integrated with the web server.
