hi,
try this code...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <?php
  2. echo "hello world";
  3. ?>
NOTE: the quotes around hello world, and the trailing semi-solon

It's also helpful if you tell us what error you get, or even what error you dont get.
  • Did php give an error on screen?
  • Was anything printed to the screen?
  • What was printed to the screen?
  • Have you placed the php file in the correct folder?

Anything that could be of assitance.

ALSO, please be more descriptive with your thread title.. you'll get more answers if you are so.

Php with tomcat? I have never tried to use tomcat for php. I am not saying its immpossible, to do. but its not good for beginners. Try Apache Web Server instead.
I found this http://wiki.apache.org/tomcat/UsingPhp you may try please, if you really wants to use tomcat as your web server.

I'd adivse you to use XAMPP or PHPEasy (i use this).

These are all bundled with php and mysql (phpmyadmin, also) and are easy to set up.

I'd tell you to just use XAMPP because it's pretty good, but recently it's decided not to work for me... so i'm not trying to up it's users ;)

I'm so spiteful.

Happy php'ing!
