Application to simulate high traffic

Hello, I am searching for a script or application on Linux that
simulates a high-traffic over my local site (Apache/MySql/PHP5), the
purpose is to test the performance of the site.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Yeah the ab tool is perfect as another poster said.

There's also WAST if you want a quick way to script something:
