why does get append to url, "&Submit.x=42&Submit.y=10" or "submit=submit"

I changed my POST to GET and find appended to the url, the above string.
Why and what can I do to NOT have them appended?

Thanks.

Change back to POST. If you know the difference between the GET method and
the POST method you will understand why.

It's added by browser when you submit on an <input type="image"> element, I
believe there's nothing you can do except changing the way the form is
submitted.

If the URL appends "submit=submit" that means you have a named submit
button. If you take away the name="submit" part out of <input type="submit"
name="submit" value="submit">, "submit=submit" will not show up in the URL.
However if you're using <input type="image" ...>, the browser automatically
adds two parameters when the form is submitted. Those two are
[submit_button_name].x and [submit_button_name].y. These parameters show the
(x,y) location of the user's mouse cursor when s/he clicked the submit
button image. Again, I'm pretty sure you can take away the name="submit"
attribute of the <input type="image"> tag and eliminate the problem.

I changed my POST to GET and find appended to the url, the above string.
Why
A browser adds all successful form controls to the URL when submitting
the form. This may include the submit-button that was used for
submission.

17.13.2 Successful controls
http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/...html#h-17.13.2
and what can I do to NOT have them appended?

Is it a problem?

Why did you switch from POST to GET if you didn't understand the
difference? It isn't like this is a big secret.
