Creating/Enabling GD Support for PHP version 4.4.7?

P: 2
Hello all,

I stumbled across this forum after I've spent all morning trying to
enable GD support, only to find out that its not even installed
on my dedicated server.

Right now I am running PHP Version 4.4.7 and I need to install
GD support so I can use a security image in my support system

I have tried to install:
via tar commands in SSH but for some reason I get the following

# tar -zxvf
tar: http\:// Cannot open: Input/output error
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Any idea how I can install GD support from scratch to
make it work properly?

Hi guys,

I just wanted to update whoever posts here on what i've tried
so far...

I read some more forums and searched google and found that
people are having success installing GD support module with
this command:

yum install php-gd

I run this command via SSH and get the following:

# yum install php-gd

Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Excluding Packages in global exclude list

Exiting on user cancel

Then I was told to restart Apache.

I do that with the following command:

service httpd restart

When done I get this:
/etc/init.d/httpd restart: httpd restarted

Now when I check my sits
via script on my webpage...

I dont see that GD support is enabled.

Even if I run command:

php -m

It is still no where to be found???

Any help with this would be great. I've searching for
8 hours now.
