I have created a database. I wanted to fetch data from the database but I get this error message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in c:\wamp\www\practicefiles\query.php on line 20

Hello Hussein Alhassan,
Perhaps you could post the line that is giving you the error? This is the ONLY WAY one could tell you your error. Better yet, take a look at LINE 20 as your error message asserts, and see if there is something blatantly obvious wrong.

Sounds like you've missed a semicolon ; after a variable, maybe, on line 19.
