tell me please what do you think about this one :
http://www.xored.com/products.php

it is based on Eclipse, has DBG support, and syntax hi-lighting
free to use & open sourced (though not GPL'ed).

Yes, KDevelop seems to be a good one but it doesn't have reflextion (I think
this is the word), I mean, when you type a character you can see a drop down
menu with all functions and variables available, or type CTR+SPACE to get
the same result.
Quanta has got this feature, it's what I need.

Thanks guys.

KDevelop has it too. If it's not turned on by default, turn it on within the
PHP project settings.

Out of curiousity, I installed KDE on my FBSD vmware install (I'm normally
a windowmaker man) but heard about KDevelop and decided to go with the
whole wmanager. It opens fine.. opens files fine.. on closing any file
(new file or re-opened existing file), it crashes. Is it just me?
KDE 3.2.2
KDevelop 3.0.3 (built from FreeBSD 4.10 ports tree)
I know this isn't really PHP, but I'd be using it fo PHP coding O=)

Someone with FreeBSD will be of better help (maybe FBSD or KDE newsgroups),
but I haven't had those crashes on Linux. But also, I haven't run those
versions either. I moved from KDE 3.1 to 3.2.1 to 3.2.3 and current
KDevelop is 3.0.4. There were couple of very specific crashes fixed from
3.0.3 to 3.0.4 but they don't sound like yours at all. May be something
related to BSD builds.

Thanks for your response Zurab.. I did what I should have done before
posting the question here, check kdevelop.org's bug database..
low-n-behold what do I find? the exact same problem as me and seems
limited to FreeBSD and IIRC, Solaris possibly too.

Whatever the problem is codewise, its in the history plugin. Disabling
this plugin from the prefs prevents KDevelop from SIGSEGVing.

The info is part of a workaround from responses in the bugs database but
thought it maybe useful to others since I had posed the question here
anyway =)

The version part (aslong as it doesn't crash elsewhere) isn't really an
issue.. it's purely to test some Perl/Tk GUIs under X.. but thought I'd
test out KDevelop (and KDE) while I was at it.. if I like it, who knows,
FBSD might become my primary OS again =)

Ian

Zend is excellet, I use it day in/day out. It is free for 30 days,
and then it stays functional at a reduced level. I donít quite know
how functional it is after 30 days, but well worth checking into.
