Think of something you'd like taken care of insteaz of doing it by hand.
Try to build it. Refer to www.php.net often if you experience trouble
(including the user contributed notes). Ask what a good solution for a
problem is/what your error in code is if you run into trouble.

Hi,

I would recommend the excellent tutorial at http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627.
It is the best tutorial that I have ever seen, on the internet, or in
a book.

Ignore the idiot retards who point you to the php.net website .

For a beginner its totally useless as its a reference manual and not a
learners tutorial .

Once you start to learn php and start to understand the type of syntax
php uses then the php.net becomes very useful .

Buy a couple of beginner books and learn to walk before tying to run .

Except for the slurs, this comment is right on. I would never had
learned any PHP, if I had started at php.net. It takes a good book or
two, preferably a good friend who knows php too, time and diligence to
get started. When you know the basics, php.net becomes your best
