can't run shell script

hi,
can anyone please tell me how to run a shell script in php. i tried the following way, but doesn't work. the file permissions are OK.

if($_POST[submit]){
    exec('/Users/lab/test/cron/update_test.sh');
}
?>
 
<form method="post" action="">
<input type="Submit" name="submit" value="Submit">
</form>

Heya, idorjee.

Have a look at this page for ways to verify that update_test.sh is not encountering an error.

Also, make sure that you have error messages turned on.
