Showing the progress of an upload processing script in real time.

28
Hello there,

Right now, iam having a php script that uploads data to a server and finally gives a message to the user that "upload is successful".But i want to change it in such a way that the user should see some process going on like the following sequence of steps:
records being transferred to the server.........
updation being done...
and then finally it should give
upload is successful.......

All the above steps should be shown in sequence and not at once.Is this possible in PHP.If so,can somebody please help me out.

Thanks in Advance,
Shara.

Heya, shara.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles do not follow the Posting Guidelines actually get FEWER responses?).

To do this, you'll want to use the flush() and ob_flush() functions.

However, each browser handles this behavior differently, and some server configurations might not allow you to do this anyway (such as if gzip compression were turned on).
