Generating a PDF file in PHP

Hi,

In short looking for PHP PDF Generator for receipt. we are going to be running a charity event to help raise funds for aids & equipment for my 3 year old daughter Lucy, who has a brain malformation Lissencephaly.

this event is in October - however i need to have on the web site a page that will record someones details - (name addres phone) what tickets they want (pension, student or family) and then send the details to me by email and produce a page on the screen in PDF format a pre-registration form that they can take to a bank and a copy of the deposit slip would be included at the bottom with a reference code overwriting the image in one spot.

Im new to PHP but I think its my only option.

ANy thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Rob.

Hi Rob.

You will, obviously, have to be able to gather data from you users. You can take a look at this article I wrote about that subject.

To be able to send emails, take a look at the mail section at php.net, or you could check out the PHPMailer class.

As to the PDF part. I have little experience with PDF, as I have rarely (if ever) had to use it. But you can check out the PDF Functions section at php.net.

Hi Rob

I don't know what your exact intent is with the PDF, but sounds to me like it's just for making the printing possible.
Might i suggest you putting this into html instead and with a simple javascript you can print out the page.
This takes a lot off of your hands trying to produce PDF, and you can maybe concentrate on making the other things possible.

Heya, Rob.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles do not follow the Posting Guidelines actually get FEWER responses?).
