Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles contain phrases such as, 'problem' actually get FEWER responses?).

Actually, for that matter, you might want to review the site Posting Guidelines anyway.

PHP can't do a 'traditional' stopwatch, with a counter and a display. The best you can do is this:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. $start = microtime(true);
  2.  
  3. .
  4. .  // Your code goes here.
  5. .
  6.  
  7. $end = microtime(true);
  8.  
  9. echo 'Total script execution time: ', ($end - $start), '.';
  10.  
If you need to show a timer that updates itself on the webpage, you'll need to use JavaScript.
