Apache 2.2 / PHP 5.2.3 crashes when loading a page on Windows server

hi...
i installed PHP 5.2.3 on apache 2.2 on windows xp as per the instructions given in the following document

<Link removed>

But when i tried to view any PHP script e.g. phpinfo the output comes on the webpage but after few seconds a error message "Apache HTTP Server encountered error needs to be closed comes up with Windows XP opens that sending error report & on the browser page can not be displayed comes up message connection was reset.

Please help me how to deal with this.
Thanks in advance

Hi, and welcome to TSDN!

I've installed all of the software you mentioned many times on Windows XP and I've never had any problems such as this one.

Honestly, this sounds like a problem with your OS, rather than with Apache. Is it possible that your OS is corrupted somehow?
Or do you have any software that may be interfering with Apache, such as Firewalls or AntiVirus programs?

Try removing and then reinstalling Apache, and see if that works.

Using the MSI installers and just using the setup wizards should install this fine, without having to modify much in order for it to work.

I recommend installing Apache first, and then install PHP. If I remember correctly, the PHP setup wizard can be used to configure Apache 2.2 to work with PHP.

Here are links to the official download pages.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles contain phrases such as, 'problem' actually get FEWER responses?).

Any updates on this, I'm experiencing the same problem, with the same versions of php / apache.

Hi. Welcome to The Scripts.

Without knowing anything more about your system I can only guess that this is caused by a corruption in your OS or a failed / corrupt install of Apache.

Try re-installing Apache. If the problem persists this is probably a problem with your OS.

It is of course possible that other software, anti-virus or such, are blocking Apache's access to vital components, causing it to crash.
