[PHP]<?php

$value = $_POST['txt_filed'];
}

<body>
<form action="<?php $PHP_SELF?>" method="post">
<input name="txt_filed" type="text" value="<?=$value?>" />
<input name="check" type="submit" />

I would suggest the following as a replacement or $value will be undefined on the first pass of the form or if the field is empty..

<?php
if(($_POST['check']) && ($_POST['txt_filed'])!="") $value = $_POST['txt_filed'];
else $value = null;
?>
