[News] [Linux] More Boycotts Against Microsoft and Its Axis

P: n/a
Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly:
Open source companies should boycotticrosoft's ISV corruption event

,----[ Quote ]
| I decided that I am going to hold an unofficial/offical boycott of
| Microsoft and it's bogus olive branch to open source at both OSBC
| and on the blog here. I encourage anyone attending or speaking at
| the event to cancel and I strongly suggest OSBC return the
| sponsorship funds from both Microsoft and Novell (sorry Matt!)

I caught your comment and link to the InformationWeek article:

"Microsoft currently collects royalties from some companies that use
Linux in their computing environments, Gutierrez said. However, he
declined to indicate the number, the dollar amount Microsoft receives
from those payments, or identify any of the companies by name."

Absolutely outrageous!!!

Who are these saps who pay Microsoft for the "privilege" of using Linux?

| 'Also, no one calls it PCI-X even though that's the "official "
| shortening of the much more commonly used "PCI Express".'
