php.ini => date.default_longitude, +ve east or west?

I'm assuming that in php.ini, date.default_latitude is +ve North of the
equator and -ve South, but what about date.default_longitude?

-ve West and +ve East of Greenwich? or vice-versa?

I know that convention seems to be -ve West and +ve East, but as far as
I can tell it's not covered in the manuals at php.net under either date
& time functions or php.ini

You have to dig down a couple of levels to find:

http://uk.php.net/date_sunset
date_sunset — Returns time of sunset for a given day and location
....
longitude

Defaults to East, pass in a negative value for West. See also:
date.default_longitude
