Installing SOAP

Hi,

Anyone got any clues on how to install the SOAP extension in PHP 5.2.0? Do I
have to recompile PHP and then reinstall it, or is it simpler than that? Are
there any URLs that explain the situation?

ps: Are there any other options for using SOAP client services that may be
compiled into my distro which I may not be aware of?

Which extension? There are several different ways of doing SOAPy things.
I'd recommend the SOAP package in PEAR:

http://pear.php.net/package/SOAP/

If you've got access to the command-line PEAR tool then you can install it
by running:

pear install SOAP

If not, just download it, uncompress it and start using it. It's written
in PHP, so you don't need to do any compiling.

If you compiled PHP from source, then it should be as simple as adding
--enable-soap to the configure options and rebuilding. If you're using
binary packages, then it will depend on the distro -- Ubuntu includes the
SOAP extension by default, for one.
