BTW: I'd like to get feedback - wether positive or negative.

In case I reinvented the wheel, I should probably stop my effort.

Note, that I tried to find a standalone debugging server of PHP. Since
I found nothing, I started this project. PHPDebugger interacts using a
PHP class, doesn't require a new source compile of PHP or any special
IDE.

I would love to give some feedback, but I am not running Mac OS. I tried
all the free debuggers for windows, and none of them work on my system
(windows 98, running the abyss webserver). Some just give a fatal error,
some just don't seem to do anything at all. So if you can write a
debugger that shjould run on my system, I'd bee happy to test it.

On a windows XP machine, I got xdebug (see http://www.xdebug.org/) to
work, but its client is not exactly workable, because you need to type
an entire command for everything you want of the debugger (step in, step
over, see variables, etc).
xdebug uses a debugging protocol, which may be something worth looking at.

Best regards.

You'd love it ;-)

Great! Please forward your email address using this form
http://www.turingart.com/form1_lan__en.htm and I'm happy to forward a
Windows build tomorrow.

Thanks for the hint! I'm currently evaluating other options.

You might wish to give this Windows archive a try [not well tested]:

Please report any and any problem. Screenshots welcome!

Although the menus seem to be a bit crowded, the app basically works on
Windows XP
