anyone has done pdf file conversion using x-pdf plug-in?please do reply.I need help urgently

Thanks alot for ur reply..I wanted to know about the pdftotext program.I used it because i had to index pdf files and to read its contents.So pdftotext program converted the files very well offline.ie, in my local host.But when i uploaded it i couldnot find a positive result.The program is not converting my pdf files to text files.Can u help me on this?In my page a message is displayed as to use iconv module support to get better encoding.Do u have any idea?please help if so.
