Luck Compiling PHP5 and Apache2 From Scratch?

Anyone had any luck compiling PHP5 and Apache2 from scratch? We're
using Suse Linux Enterprise 9 because we're not allowed to upgrade yet.

If you did have a spot of luck, could you spare your cheat sheet?

Many thanks in advance.
