Read and Write to a text File

I am COMPLETELY NEW TO PHP

San someone supply me with a PHP script to read and write to a text
file on the server

Also any suggestion on a free PHP editor?

Welcome to PHP :)

I'd recommend you start with the "Hello World" script :)

I guess your best bet is to try to make your own, and post specific
questions about it when it doesn't do what you expect.

Check the wonderful PHP manual ( @ http://www.php.net/manual )
