ftp transfer large files?

I'm trying to transfer a large file (20mb) from another site to mine. Although it does transfer, the browser doesn't update. I've changed the timeout values in both IE and Firefox, but no luck.

Any ideas?

If nothing else, can I extract portions of a .tar file (a bunch of jpgs) from the remote server and transfer only those to mine?

Thanks!

I think I'm understanding you correctly, you unable to upload large files. if so you will need to adjust the php.ini file size setting to something like 25 mega's
this should allow you to use your upload script and tranfer files that weight up to 25 meg's anything over will not be uploaded..

as the files that can be upload were determind by php.ini

Hope this helps
