Solution input needed for small graphic design firm

P: n/a
We are a small graphic design firm who is fighting a growth spurt which
has resulted in an overload in our handling of email and proofing.

We are looking for a pre-built, open source PHP/MYSQL solution that
would provide the following features. Any ideas would be much
appreciated. Modification of an existing solution would be acceptable
as we have some understanding of PHP and its implementation.

1) Ability to add users (clients) to the user database.

2) Each user should be able to have their own "space" viewable only to
them on the web. This space would provide us the ability to upload
proofs as files with corresponding hard URL's, The client would then be
able to make notes regarding changes. All correspondence would take
place between our firm and clients via this system.

3) Automatic notification to client upon new upload of proofs or files.

4) Ability for the client to upload files as needed as well as automatic
notification to the admin.

5) Admin interface with overview of all clients and current status of
proof viewings and logins.
We are willing to look at a custom built solution, but as with anything
in business, cost is a big issue for us. We would be willing to swap
services for anyone that may need graphic design work from a
professional design firm.

Bids will be accepted.

Please respond to the email below or contact us at the phone number
below. We are typically in the office from 10am - 11pm EST.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I had the same requirement in mind but for my family photo album. Instead of
me managing each of the family, I'd let them to do it for their own family
and I just manage the overall systems and backup.
