Your best bet is to find the Internet Authentication Services (IAS) on
your Microsoft CD's and install them on your primary AD controller. IAS
provides you with a RADIUS plug-in to AD, and you can go from there. This
is the fastest way to go.
It is my understanding that the new version of AD under Win2003 Server has
a component called AD/AM (Active Directory in Application Mode) which will
handle generalized queries (or, as MS calls them "legacy" LDAP queries).
Might be worth looking into, if your project is big enough.

Hello,
From a PHP webpage, is it possible to authenticate users running Apache
on MacOS X (with PHP 4) and an active directory on Windows 2000 or
Windows XP?
TIA,
