allways appears <? in left top corner

hello all:

i have a little problem with my php scripts. always appears in left top corner the symbols <?

The problem is the same when the script executes in web (php+apache) or in command line (/directory/php testing.php).

i have tried to write <?, <?php , and the result is the same.
my system is :
Apache/2.0.55 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.1.2 mod_perl/2.0.2 Perl/v5.8.7
Ubuntu Dapper 2.6.15-25-686 #1 SMP PREEMPT .

I sugest you post one of your scripts we are unlikely to be able to tell you the problem without seeing them.

i have found the problem. the problem was the string <? at bottom of one script in an include.
thanks and excuseme for my "stupid" ask.
