Good version control system

Hi

Im looking for a good Version Control system. I have seen CVS but I am
having difficulty understanding how it works and getting it running.

I was wondering if there was a simpler GUI one for Windows.

Any suggestions?

I wonder why people ask about SCM (Source Code Management) tools
in php news group..?
Any suggestions?
Check following site..

http://scm.tigris.org

pay attention to subversion..which is supposed to
be "compelling replacement for CVS"

Get Subversion. It's been a few months since I switched from CVS to
Subversion here at work, for Java, PHP and TeX projects, and it
works like a charm. Installation might seem a bit daunting at
first, but here's an excellent guide to setting up a SVN server:

http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/docs/T...N_en/ch03.html

Concerning the GUI part, TortoiseSVN is the perfect GUI client for
Subversion, it integrates neatly with Windows Explorer. If you've
ever used TortoiseCVS, well, this is the Subversion counterpart.
Another GUI client for Subversion is RapidSVN:

http://rapidsvn.tigris.org

SVN's basic workings are comparable to CVS (after all, it claims to
be the 'new' CVS), but I find that their principles are better
thought out, and more logically organised. Check the documentation,
it's excellent and will give you a jumpstart if you decide to work
with Subversion:

QVCS-Pro http://www.qumasoft.com/ is a nice, simple version control
system. The only drawback is that it is Windows only and requires
Windows file access to the archive. These can be pretty big drawbacks. ;-)

Yep, I vote for Subversion as well.
