odbc_pconnect ?

hi all,

does anyone have already use odbc_pconnect for PHP to make a persistant
connection ?
anyone could help me , i don't know how to make a persistant connection with
my php script and my database ("ADABAS")
is there any need of DAEMON which connect to the database and give the
handle to the php scripts ?
