i need to build a page similar to this

script which captures details processesa login then redirects to a secure page for a free download

its mainly to get targeted emails for back end sales after a free ebook download and to tell members about up coming offers

i knowthere is probably something already out there for free but i just cant find it.

must include a subscribe/unsubscribe feature for complete automation

id rather learn how to do it myself through a guide or detailed explanation

if i wanted to pay i could just buy the script from hotscripts or ebay i guess az i have seen them on there

would you be able to program a completely custom script for me with extra features?

If your just looking to learn how to make such a program I would highly recomend getting the book PHP, MySQL and Apache ISBN 0-672-32725-2 from www.samspublishing.com

It's a good book to learn PHP/MySQL and has an almost finished script for what you are describing. The only problem with the book I have seen is the programs they give you don't work without a recompile of PHP to incorperate support for MySQL. But you might not need them anyhow if you have access on your server to the proper setup anyhow. I use them localy to test and code my programs before uploading to the server.

If you are looking for someone to help you though you might try providing a little more information.

They would need to know first if you want & can use an SQL database and what type of data you want to capture from the form.

Example:

Name, Address, Zip Code, Telephone number, Email address...etc.

Also are you wanting to use cookies to remember the user.

Give us more information on what you want from the program and perhaps someone can code some things for you as an example to get you started.
