refering header problems

A script me and my friend wrote is havnt trouble grabbing the referrer
header for two sites that direct to mine with a "meta http-equiv"

Both sites swear they aren't blocking headers in their scripts but the
two are similar in that those are the only two sites not properly
sending my script it's referrer header and they both use a meta refresh
to link to sites.

Any ideas?

The referrer header isn't sent by the other site, it's sent by the browser.

Great, but that doesn't answer my question.

Well, it kinda does.
Oli's comment was "The referrer header isn't sent by the other site, it's
sent by the browser."

In other words, the problem you describe could be caused by the browser not
passing that header.

This isn't just a problem for me though, any user that clicks a link
from these two sites that lead to mine, it never gets caught by my
script. So if it is a browser problem it's not just me.

HTTP_REFERER is never reliable. It may work fine - but depending on the
browser, firewall, proxies and a lot of other things, you may or may not get a
referrer. And even if you do, you can't be sure it's correct.

I'd suggest you look for a different way of identifying the origin - like
perhaps an affiliate id sent as a GET parameter.
