looking for do-it-yourself email campaign software or service - any recommendations?

I am checking out a do-it-yourself email service but not completely sold on
them yet.

Anyone know of reasonably priced/free software to install myself?

I tried writing the code and it did not work as planned ...for a client's
email campaign! Not so good.

So I am in the market if anyone knows of anything out there that works WELL.

Thanks.
