changing values

Hello,
I have a page with different datas. One of them is recorded in a input
text field. Thisone could be changed and so I need the new value in
the same page which will be called after the value was changed. How
can I read this value into a variable.

Many thanks for help

assuming you use a html form, the variables are available as

$_POST['variable'] or
$_GET['variable']

after you submit the form (depending on your form's method)
to have a form post result on the same page use something like

<form action="<? echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="POST">
