$HTTP_POST_FILES vs $_FILES

Hey guys!

I have heard that it might be better using
$HTTP_POST_FILES for php version 4.1 and lower
and using $_FILES for 4.1 and higher...

Anyone knows what is the difference really?
why not simply using $HTTP_POST_FILES on all ?

Thanx for your help

Because $HTTP_POST_FILES is deprecated.

Because $HTTP_POST_FILES is deprecated.

Correct, but more importantly, because the newer $_FILES, $_SERVER, etc. are
available in all scopes throughout a script.
