php java extension impossible on Mac OS X

It seesm impossible to use the java extension on Mac OS X due to the
'special' file locations of the Java JDK in OS X... am I right ?
if not, where can I get some good info or feedback on it ?

I am using Mac OS X (10.2.8 with Java 1.4.1) and PHP 4.3.3

there is a standard package to install 4.3.3 but --with-java is not
configured in it....
I tried to reconfigure with the standard Java installation on OS X no
way...

I also downloaded the JDK from sSun and installed it in /usr/local,
giving this location in the configure step... but the make step failed
with the following message... I am close t give up if I don't find a
solution and moving directly to JSP, but I know it's possible to use
this java extension on other platforms...

hereadter is the console msg during the make :
/usr/local/php-4.3.4RC1/ext/java/java.c -o ext/java/java.lo
/usr/local/php-4.3.4RC1/ext/java/java.c:39:24: JavaVM/jni.h: No such
file or directory
