Problems with Web Server in local

Hello everyone, i have the following problem:

I work actually in local and when I put my php (and html) files on the
local directory configured as localhost, an error message (which says
that no files are on the server) appear

The server is Apache on Windows XP, and I see on the server only the
Apache manual (and the message that says "Apache is correctly running!").

I had been just pass to Apache and I don't know what I do.

Thank you very much for the help!

And what's the entry for DocumentRoot?

You have to set up the Apache config file properly. There should be a
shortcut in your start menu under the Apache entry... Especially the
"DocumentRoot" is what you have to change.

Next time don't post Apache problems in the PHP newsgroup! There sure exists
a Apache or equivalent newsgroup.

Is the ServerName in httpd.conf localhost?
Yes, localhost:80

And what's the entry for DocumentRoot?
"C:/Programmi/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs"

What's the output for http://localhost/?
Welcome page of Apache

Thank you very much Kirsten!

"C:/Programmi/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs" OK you have to place all your documents in this directory or in Subfolders.
What's the output for http://localhost/?
Welcome page of Apache

Thank you very much Kirsten!

But lex is right, this is the PHP Group. Search for your Problem or Post
it in this Group:
alt.apache.configuration
