Are you attempting to access the session variables by utilizing
$_SESSION['varname']? Because if you are not then that is where your
problem is. If the sessions are working with register globals that
means the session variable should be filled when you turn it off.

Remember when register variables is off accessing variables from GET,
POST, COOKIE or SESSION must be in the form of:
$_GET
$_POST
$_REQUEST
$_COOKIE
$_SESSION

The best way to debug it is doing a vardump on the variables.
