Authentication

For some reason, even though my php script does require and prompts the user
for authentication, the page still loads slowly in the background. Normally
authentication windows pop up before the page starts to load and only loads
on correct validation, but in my case it prompts the user, yet the page
still loads in the background.

Any ideas?

Depends what your code looks like, and how you're doing the
authentication... Oh, but we can't see that at the minute.... :o\

could be that your web browser is not seing the end of the page stream
so thinks it is still loading the page (even though it is finished) -
giving you the impression that something is actually loading in the bg.
Could be the browser, could be your script, could be a 404erd object on
the page, could be the web server. Could be any combination of the above.
