php.. Am I stuck??

No
I purchased a program ( So I thought) that turned out to be just a bunch of
php scripts put together. I am getting terrible support from the author but
I am biting my tongue because I don't want to piss him off. My question to
anyone who knows is, Am I stuck with him for support or can anyone
qualified in php help me, in other words is it common for php authers to
encrpt the scripts so others can't see what's in them??

If I can get support from others (paid of course) I will tell him to take a
hike... Am I stuck??

There are tools to encrypt PHP scripts, and if he used one of those on
the program he sold you, your chances for outside help are slim,
depending on the license agreement. Just open some of the php files in a
text editor and see if the contents look readable (even if not
understandable to you as a non-programmer), any decent php programmer
should be able to maintain it for you. If you're not sure (and your
license agreement allows it) just send me the files by email and I'll
have a look for you.
