=3D appearing in mail sent from auto generating PHP script

<td style=3D"border-left: solid #aaa 1px; border-right: solid black 2px;
border-top: solid black 2px; border-bottom: solid black 2px;"
colspan=3D"4">Data In Cell</td>

*NOTE*

I didn't write the e-mail application, but I was hired to debug the coding
of this website. The e-mail application generates 2 different types of
e-mail: a .txt file and an HTML based e-mail. only one of the clients is
having this problem, all the other e-mails generate fine. I was wondering
if it has something to do with the way they uploaded their data to the
database or if it's a server error. Any suggestions? I'd prefer to NOT
have to write a function that removes the =3D" from the generated mail,
for fear that it may remove something that should be there...

"=3D" is what an equals sign looks like in a quoted-printable stream. Add
this to the headers of the HTML segment and the problem should go away:
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

as I further investigated, I found this:

$this->build_params['html_encoding'] = 'quoted-printable';
$this->build_params['text_encoding'] = '7bit';
$this->build_params['html_charset'] = 'ISO-8859-1';
$this->build_params['text_charset'] = 'ISO-8859-1';
$this->build_params['head_charset'] = 'ISO-8859-1';
$this->build_params['text_wrap'] = 998;

so your idea in theory should work, but it's already included...

would it be smarter to change the encoding from 7bit to 8bit? or would tha
tnot make a lick of difference?

Well it sounds to me like the client software is the problem, so perhaps
not.

Could you generate a short "hello world" email and post the results here?

Hey I appreciate the help, but we've solved the problem, it had to do with
some info that was being pulled from the database. we fixed it, and all is
well

You can't really tell from this code. Just open a raw message as received
by client.
