exporting a mysql table to excel format via a php program

20 New Member
Hi all

I have a php program accessing a mysql database. I want users to be able to run reports via the program. But I also want to export the results of my query to excel by clicking on a push button present on my screen. Is there any function which can do the export to excel format. I would be grateful if anyone could provide me this info.

Thanks

There probably is a class kicking around that will achieve this, but it is very easy to write to a CSV file using the fopen(), fwrite() php functions.
Place the data within a string with the data fields seperated by commas and each record terminated with carriage return newline.
ie
$handle = fopen('filename ','w');
fwrite($handle, "data1,data2,da ta3,data3 \r\n");
fclose();
Hello, I have a routine in my Windows application that exports the contents of a datagrid to Excel. It is modeled closely after the HowTo example on MSDN: http://tinyurl.com/5g2jm. Depending on the number of rows/columns in the datagrid, it can be extremely slow (several minutes to populate a 1000x50 spreadsheet). That is understandable, looking at the number of steps to copy over just one row.

Hi all-- In an attempt to commit an Access MDB to a versioning system (subversion), I'm trying to figure out how to convert a jet table's metadata to text, a la SaveAsText. The end goal is to be able to build an MDB completely from the svn repository text files. Has anybody dealt with this? Thanks in advance,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
