parser error : Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding

1 New Member
Try to read an rss file with:
$file = trim($argv[1]);
$xml = simplexml_load_ file($file);
My RSS-reader has no problem reading the file, but when I try to read it with simplexml_load_ file I always get the error:

parser error : Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding

What's wrong ?

Hi, does anyone know of a Python package that is able to load XML like the XML::Simple Perl package does? For those that don't know it, this package maps the XML file to a dictionary.

C++ newsgroupies: I wrote a parser to solve math expressions like "3.0 ^(4 - 5)", or "3 / 8". It's bad luck to name an interface after its implementation. This file could have been "expressionSolver.h". But naturally, if I set out to implement recursive descent parsing, that tainted my filename selection. Below my sig is recursiveDescentParser.h, a math expression solver. Using the test framework, and test suite appearing in parallel...

Hi Folks, This is my first post to this group, and I really am not sure whether this is the right group to ask my question. If its not an appropriate question to this group, please correct me and guide me to the right place. The thing is, I have been asked to design a XML parser using C. I have done some study on XML so far and I know that I should have a design before I start my coding.

Hello all, I'm having a little problem, The UTF-8 parser we are using converts the newline entity ( ) within an attribute that we are using to paliate CSS limitations. After the parser has gone through the document, the entity is converted to \n, which then effectively tosses out the window the behavior we are getting by keepinig the entity AS IS within the document.

Iam using c lexer that is flex generated and a c++ parser that is bison generated. i have modified the parser to acccept only string input. I am calling the parser function yyparse in a loop and reading line by line of user input. I stop the loop if the input is "quit". The problem i am facing is that when input does'nt match any rule then, the parser stops abruptly, and at next iteration starts off at same state, expecting the rule...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
