Insert statment problem

8 New Member
Good morning

I have a form with the controls in the insert statment below. table1 has an Auto increment primary key hence is omitted in the insert statment and form. Am getting the error It didnt work " .mysql_insert_i d(); and not any other php or mysql error to tell me if anything is wrong the insert statment.

To top it up, I have an echo statment of the insert statment before it executes, when I copy and paste the insert statment from the browser and paste it in MySQL query analyser, the insert statment actually works. What could be wrong, please help

$Sql= "insert into table1(leader,S nrOp,Op1,Op2,Ab sent,OP3,ExtraO p,Date,Autho) values(".$_POST['sleader'].",".$_POST['SnrOp'].",".$_POST['Op1'].",".$_POST['Op2'].",".$_POST['otOp1'].",".$_POST['extOp'].",".$mydate.", ".$_SESSION['absent_status'].")";

$result = mysql_query($Sq l);
if (mysql_query($r esult)){
echo "<br /> Entered id " .mysql_insert_i d();
}else{echo "It didnt work " .mysql_insert_i d();

Hi, Here's my question: How do I pass a NULL value in a variable to a MySQL DB? Here's an overview of my problem: I have a PHP page that processes code, then inserts the code into a database. Very straightforward. But, some NULL values are being inserted as a blank space, or the string "NULL" instead of a true NULL.

Hi there, i=B4m actually developing a performance criticial system where I need to index a huge amount of protocoll data. These data are already in a chronological order, so if I push the data one by one in the database I will never need an ORDER BY syntax, `cause mysql already stores the data the right way. That=B4s tweaking, isn=B4t it ;)

Hello, I'm looking for a way to make some of my insert templates more readable by placing comments in between the values. I cannot seem to find a way to do this with DB2, is there a way? I'm probably missing something basic. I have insert into ken.snyder id1,id2,id3 values (

I have a form that a person enters some information on. They then clicka button that triggers VBA to perfom a SQL INSERT INTO query. One of the fields auto assignes the current date. Hello, I am having a problem that I can't seem to work out. I am running Apache 2.2 on a Windows XP platform, using PHP5. I am attempting to insert a row into a MS Access data base with a PHP script. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
