I'm not sure about the average, but my company will get for my work as
PHP developer >=100 EURO / hour.

Don't know how your German is. www.gulp.de has information on
freelancer pricing.

The Currency Converter found at http://www.xe.com/ucc/ says
100.00 EUR
Euro = 5,269.78 INR India Rupees!!!!!!!! I think, you guys can

I'm not a freelancer. That's not the money I get, that's the money the
company gets from the customer for selling me and my work.

I think Matthias desribed a top-notch freelancer with a rate of 100
EUR, but I think its not impossible. Realise as well, that with German
bureaucracy, there is a rate of about 50/70% (exclusive/inclusive
health insurance) that you're looking at, minus equipment.

A lot of people think, you can just work anywhere as an IT freelancer,
so you would best be working for EUR sitting in India, but I think
this is in most cases not true (due to eg. that only big companies are
able to write specs)

I wonder, why almost all PHP programmers are working in sweatshops...

I'm a fan of Greg Ewing's PyGUI . I used it to code a simple game for my son , and enjoyed it. Programming with wxPython feels like programming with a C++ tool that has been wrapped in Python. Programming with PyGUI feels like programming with a real Python tool. If you're developing a commercial application in Python, wxPython is currently the only option that offers native widgets on w32. It would be a boost for Python if PyGUI got...

Hi I'm developing a program and the client is worried about future reuse of the code. Say 5, 10, 15 years down the road. This will be a major factor in selecting the development language. Any comments on past experience, research articles, comments on the matter would be much appreciated. I suspect something like C would be the best based on comments I received from the VB news group. Thanks for the help in advance James Cameron

Hi there, I am looking for a javascript function that someone might have already written to calculate the paid-time-off. Given are the start and end date and time. I need to calculate the paid-time-off. That means the formula needs to be smart enough to figure out the Saturdays and Sundays within the period and subtract the time from the time period.

Hey guys. I'm looking to get together some VB programmers on Yahoo messenger. I sit at a computer and program all day. I have about 3 or 4 people already, but it would be really cool to have a much larger list of people (for all of us to benefit). I have found it to be an invaluable resource to answer those hard or weird programming questions that come up. If you are interested, please reply, or send me an email at imgroup@gmail.com

Hello, Let me start by saying that I am coming from a background using Matlab (or Octave), and C++. I am going to outline the basic nuts-and-bolts of how I work in these languages, and ask for some help to find out how the same thing is done in Python. I am not sure what the standard is. In C++, I open up an editor in one window, a Unix shell in another. I write the code in the editor, then switch to the shell window for compile...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
