Install problem (new to PHP)

I have a problem setting things up (PHP 5.03 on Windows with Apache
and mySQL). : mysql_connect(. .) generates Apache error log - undefined
function. I have put
extension=php_m ysql.dll
in php.ini

and added
c:\php
to the Windows path. However I still get 'cant find php_mysql.dll'
when Apache starts. OTOH php_mysql.dll isnt in c:\php so.. is this in
a separate download? TIA

I am trying to install a LAMP system and have so far installed Linux, Apache, MySQL all of which appear to be working. The instructions I have to install PHP include the following line ../configure --with-apxs= PathToFile/apxs -- with-mysql What is apxs? I have searched my system and dont appear to have any files by that name.( find -iname apxs*) - I assume it should be installed with apache. Can I install it seperately?

Re: only got "pear.old_bat" I had a previous post ".. Upgrade Methods ..." and so far I've gotten around most thorny issues, including patching php5.1.4 with php5apache2_2.dll so I can run it as module with Apache2.2.3 I need a educated response from a PEAR developer, if possible My 1st run go-pear died because I exceeded "maximum execution time" while researching the 1st ?

I remember having problems with pear when I first installed it but got it running some time ago. This is on a windoze XP SP OS. I did not think it was correct because it pointed to "C\php\pear\PEAR". I writing a pear front-end GUI and I want to have it installed correctly. It seemed to have some duplication of directories between the lower and upper cased pear dir names. Should there be a "php\pear\PEAR" subdirectory? I thought it should...

Hi, I am one of those questionable people that started with Vista (Home Premium). Not because I think it is a ready/steady OS, but partly out of curiousity, and partly because I needed to work on an old project that happens to run on IIS6/W2000/MSSQL7, but my W2000 machine couldn't handle the size of the database in question anymore. :-( My new Vista machine is 5 years younger and is a lot faster, so I started to figure out how to use...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
