identify sudirectories in a directory

Hi,
I need to identify all the subdirectories beginning with the same name (say "ABCD23", "ABCuyt6", "ABC8trh" etc) inside my main directory. Then i need to access each of these subdirectories to open up the files inside each one of them. Using Perl

Ok, what have you tried thus far? I remember back when I was in college, an instructor had this problem for us to do as well (albeit another language). Is this school work? If so, you will not get the answer here, but instead will only get assistance in getting to the answer.
