Installation of DBI and DBI-Mysql module

Dear all,
I have to install DBI and DBI-mysql module in perl 5.10 in windows XP. The proxy setting in my working place block the automatic updatation by ppm by setting my proxy using http_proxy. In between I also tried to download the binary r for DBI for the version of 5.8 and when I tried in 5.10 , it shows the compatibility issue but perl version 5.8 binary installer is not found in net and I tried all possible way but I could not do anything to get it done . I also learned that it is difficult to compile DBI module in windows since I lack visual C and C++. Please give me an idea to circumvent this problem.

Thanks,
B.Nataraj

Read the PPM help files, there is something in the help files about setting the proxy server. I have no experience with the proxy setting so you will have to read the help file and see if you can determine if there is something there that can help you.
