Editing HTML file

P: 1
Hello Folks,
I need a little bit of Help in editing a HTML file.
From what i know,i can't directly edit the file using PERL(activePERL,running on windows).
i have few questions here, any answers would be appreciated.
1) I have a file by name "xyz.html". i have to add a line in a particular section of that file.So what i'm doing is,creating a another file by name "abc.html" then delete xyz.html file and then rename abc.html to xyz.html.
Please suggest if any other way possible.

2) The added line has is appended with "<span style='font-size: "
something like this <span style='font-size:the line that i added.
Now i dont know what is happenning here.
I dont want "<span style='font-size:" to be appended"

Please suggest or let me know what is happening here and how to solve this problem.

what his saying if you don't attempt to do this your self we can not help you, we are not a programing service that creates full programs for users, we just point the users in the right direction on what problems they made.

if you have attempted this then post your code, in code tags.

also with no code we can not help, we don't know what is going on unless you post code

Thank You,

Charlie

More to the point....if we can't see any code, can't see the file being edited, how are we going to know what the problem is?
